Seven years ago today, we physically became a family of four. I became ill about 2 days prior to traveling. We had Bug escorted but still had to drive 3 hours to pick him up at the airport. I was devastated to not be able to travel. But Papa bravely went forth all on his own. I was so sick, Peanut had to go stay with my mom and dad. His flight was delayed due to a snow storm in Denver where they had a lay over. He came home on St. Joseph's feast day! Special for us. And his 5 month birthday.

I remember my girlfriend calling me, she came from IL to the airport. I was on with her when they were handing our son into my husband's arms. She was crying, I was crying, she was trying to take video and picture and take it all in. I had to let her go! She told me he had wild hair and was big. The biggest clothes I had sent were 6-9 month size. He was 20 lbs! Hubby could only put part of one outfit on him!!

I remember everything about my hubby pulling in the driveway. Looking in the back seat at this little baby. Feeling so proud of my husband, this little boy's daddy.

Bug is an easy going, kind hearted loving boy. He loves to read, play L*gos, anything St*r Wars, his family, Jesus, snuggles, Th*mas the tank engine, eating mama cooked meals and his baby blanket. At this point I am not sure the baby blanket will be gone when he walks down the aisle!! I love this boy and thank God for him every day!!

He stops to smell the flowers!

Chillin' while watching tv

I lOVE the 70's disco pants!

He climbed OUT of his crib and fell asleep here!

2nd Birthday!

My beautiful boy!

Can't you just see the mischief!

He has always had a laugh out loud personality!

Bug gives the BEST hugs and willingly switches clothes with Peanut, anything to get a laugh!

Bug has always been the best pillow for his sweet sister.

And has had the favor returned!

HELP! I need my brother!!

Don't you think Bug REALLY needs to have his brother come home!??!! Being home with 2 girls most days, all day, is starting to be too much!!

He is really a ham and the two of them just giggle away when they have decided to play dress up. I usually can tell by the amount of giggling whether Bug will be wearing dresses or boy dress up!!

I wonder if new brother will be willing to put all that on!!

Tears of sadness

Over lunch today we were talking about Easter. I mentioned how I hoped Munchkin #3 would be home in time to celebrate with us. Peanut instantly became upset and starting crying saying "I just can't take it any more, I want him home". Over and over again.

Mama really should have thought before opening her mouth. Chances of us being gone for Easter are greater than him being home by then.

Bug figured that one out rather quickly himself when he responded--"Mama and Papa need to go SOON for him to be home for Easter".

This prompted fresh tears from Peanut. It breaks a Mama's heart when she can't understand herself why he isn't home yet.

It was SO much easier when they didn't have a real understanding of time/days.

Rocks

Peanut and Bug were sorting their rock collection today.

I overheard them making a pile for #3. :))

It was so endearing, even more so because they used his American name. We have called him by his Thai name for a long time, it is odd for any of us to use his American name. Add to that the fact that Peanut was rather perturbed by our choice of name, and I was speechless!

As I was checking morning schoolwork I was feeling so good about these thoughtful children I had. They were sharing their precious rock collection with a brother we have been talking about for 18 months. A brother they have only seen a small handful of pictures of with two small videos. If I were them, I would truly think my parents were making this all up by now!

I was SO proud!

Peanut came into the kitchen to grab a bag for #3's rocks.

Peanut says- We have rocks for #3!

Me- Wow, that is was so nice of you guys to share with #3!

Peanut- Well, we had some neither one of us wanted.

I'm off to eat some humble pie~ ;))

When?

This was the conversation between Bug and I today.

Bug--When is Munchkin going to come home? (Said with much sadness)

Me--I just don't know, Honey.

Bug--Well, we've known about him since I was 4 years old.

Complete pause from me and after a few minutes of thinking.....

Bug was right. He was a few months away from being 5 when we first found our son. Bug is now a few months over 6.

I would love to be able to answer his question.
